The small tank is not filling from the large oil tank. When the small tank gets low the alarm goes off. Looking for help or do I need to take it to a Mech

check the pick up tube in the on board oil tank it has a fine screen in the bottom of it over time sometimes they will get gunked up can be cleaned an reused if that is not the problem check the pressure line going in the oil tank make sure its putting out. these are the 2 easy checks.

Could also be air in the system, might have to google the directions on how to bleed it.

This and the fill lid not being tight is the 2 main causes for the alarm on a Merc.

I found a crack on the cap/neck of my large oil tank. Easy way to check is start motor, spray soap/water solution around cap/neck and watch for bubbles.

If you ran your large tank down real low and ran the boat you probably just sucked air and that is why the motor reservoir isn't refilling. If that is the case start the motor and carefully unscrew the plug on top of the motor tank and see if it refills. If it does you're good to go.
