Had a cable break on mine 3 months after purchase. Took it back to Sartin Marine and was out the door in 45 minutes with a new cable and zero dollars out of pocket. When they were writing up the invoice didn't need to look up parts numbers as they had replaced so many broken cables under warranty. Big issue that I think was fixed when a stronger grade cable was available. Would not hesitate to buy another one.

Bad remote out of the box. MK shipped a replacement overnight.

I fish Palestine a lot was scared too pull the trigger on one having heard of people breaking the shaft running into stumps.Has anyone had problems with the shaft.

No problems with the shaft here and I fish Palestine a lot. Granted I am not running on 10 power when in the stumps, but I have run up on some rocks before going to retrieve a lure on fairly high speed with no break in the shaft.

That said, I am glad to hear about this extension because last weekend I had a plastic piece come out of the mount, and I need to get my on/off switch replaced again. Still the best tool on the boat though.

Where did you hear that? I have just about sawed mine in half, rubbing on the cables at power play discharges. Even at half it�s normal thickness, it stops my boat on a dime when I ram rocks and stumps.

I�d be suspect, if someone said they snapped the shaft without severe fault of the owner.

Tough as nails.

From what I read, it's true. Does not apply to factory rebuilt motorss though...

Effective November the 12, 2018, The MinnKota Ultrex will now have a 3yr warranty instead of the original 2yr warranty. This will be retroactive to all Ultrex's since introduction, except for the factory rebuilt (FR) motors. This warranty will start at the date of purchase to the original owner. This is MinnKota's way of showing both confidence in the unit and thanking those that have purchased, or will purchase the unit."

If you buy one, buy it with the mind set of when you will have trouble, not if. Makes the blow a lot less. I was able to fix my issue myself as it was minor, but glad to see they are backing their product.

If you purchase an Ultrex from Tackle Warehouse, where do you get it fixed when it breaks?
