For you guys that throw one all the time, what’s your favorite C-rig Rod, $200 and under?

Falcon Lowrider in the Lizard Dragger 1 model. Really nice rod for under your price point. Need a little heavier action for bigger Carolina rigged baits like 10”-12” worms....? Falcon makes a Lizard Dragger 2 model that is a little heavier action. They both are great C-rig rods. thumb

Holdout for the Kistler Christmas Sale and get a 7’0 or 7’3 heavy fast KLX. Far superior to everything list above and worth paying a little more. I have several z-bones and I don’t think there’s much difference.

Go with the Falcon rod...…….. They are the best IMO

I've used Lizard Dragger I & II and they just don't have enough backbone for me. I throw 3/4oz 90% of the time. I use Cara Amistad for most all of my C-rigging. LD I & II work really well for lightweight rigs, though.

Thanks for the info guys. I’ve got quite a few Falcon Bucoo rods and have really liked them for that price range. Was thinking about trying something next tier to see the difference.

Okie, having used both the Lowrider and Cara Rods, do you feel the Cara is noticeably worth the price difference?

Now that the new Lowriders are not much less than the Cara I would go Cara. The Bucco SR different than the original Bucco if you haven’t tried them. A little closer to the Cara action.

I have a Falcon Bucoo 7'3 Hvy action and it is perfect for C-rigs. It'll cost you around $100-$120 depending on where you buy it. Best bang for the buck out there

Falcon 7'6" Heavy Cara. Last year I threw my summer c-rigs with a 1 oz. weight on their Cara Super Duty. 7'5" and loved it. Lots of power!

I've never put my hands on a Bucco rod just because I like the Cara's so well. The heavy action 7'3" Bucco should work fine for you if price is an issue. Cara's are lighter and more sensitive, and you can just feel the quality in your hands...JMO. I will never buy another rod without the Cara name on it.

The Dobyns DC804C is the absolute best C-Rig rod I've ever had! They retail for $259.99 but you may find one in your price range on sale or slightly used (Can't imagine ever selling mine). The extra length is great for throwing long leaders which I do a lot, especially during the summer. It's called Carolina Riggin' Special but it does extra duty very well throwing lighter A-Rigs, jigs and smaller swimbaits.

CARA Amistad is tough to beat. Been using a Duckett 7'6" MH a little this year. Pretty decent rod for $99

fx customs 7 foot 1 med heavy spinning. the spinning reel lets me cast 5 foot leaders etc. its the same rod blank as the casting rod mh so its not a conventional floppy spinning rod. it works great for me

fx rods are 160 I have about 25 of them and 10 nrx

Best Carolina Rod I have ever had is a Kistler Helium MAD 7'11", the current version is a Helium MOD 7'10". Kistler has a current sale going on that gets it down to $250 which I know is slightly over your budget, but I never enjoyed Carolina Rigging until I got this rod.

The Cara Amistad is getting a lot of love. I’m already a Falcon fan, so think I’ll habe to up my budget a bit and try one.

Denali Lithium 7' 4' Heavy Fast Action

Check out the Denali Lithium line. Great rod, light weight and their "Fast" is fast and their "Heavy Action" is Heavy unlike a lot of other companies specs.

TW just got the new Lowrider in the 7’3 Amistad. Only $129. I already have this rod and it’s nice. Pretty close to my Amistad Cara.

I know that you said below $200, but for $8 more, I really like the Dobyns 734C and you can get it from Amazon...I've ordered three rods this summer from them, and they've all been delivered without any issues
