why not stock something that will live year round,..waste of money. Being that these trout are released into public park ponds / lakes, the fish are gone within a few weeks if that long. I've seen people lined up nearly shoulder to shoulder, especially when someone catches one.

Any of you guys have any advice or tips for a rookie trout chaser? I've caught some before randomly, but never targeted any. Gonna change that this winter. I plan on using spinning tackle, as i have no experience with fly fishing, and I plan on hitting the Brazos, Guadalupe, and various community lake stocking locations. Other than an ultralight spinning rod & reel, & a few panther martin, & assorted other makers, rooster tail type lures that I already have, not sure what else i should grab for the tackle box to help me catch some fish for the fridge. Any pointers are welcome and appreciated.

If no one else is around throw a bit of corn into the water and then cast into that spot. Alot like carp fishing as well.
