Ingredients:

3 cups + 1 Tbs self rising flour
3 Tbs sugar
3 Tbs melted butter
Little bit of shortening
1 bottle/can beer, room temp

Directions:
Mix 3 cups flour and sugar together in bowl. Stir in beer and stir all together to make a dough. Ste aside 5-10 min to rise.

Grease load pan with shortening (you can also use a little butter) and flour pan with 1 Tbs four. Pour in dough and after leveling it out pour melted butter on top.

Bake 375 for about 45-50 min or until a tester comes out clean.

This makes a good rustic bread for beans or chili. For variation you can add cheese, chopped jalapenos, bacon bits etc...

Love making bread.
Never saw this recipe before
Going to try it out

Have you tried with a yeast dough?

Could regular flour salt and baking powder sub for the self rising?
