Get out when ever you are able. Pretty country around Lake Fork area. Agree. I live just north of Mineola. Great country around here. The older you get, the more you will likely need good medical facilities fairly close. Tyler is about 35 minutes south of me and has some very good hospitals and doctors. Plus you are only minutes away from some great fishing.

After seeing the "high density development" plans that Lewisville wants to do over the next ten years, I'm already giving thought to moving someplace like Sanger where my next door neighbor is at least ten acres away. its all going high density $2K a month apartments

44 here with two boys and two girls. One of the boys is in the navy and one in college. Two girls are in elementary. We made our exit this year. 21 acres and ten minutes from lake o the pines ramp. I'll probably never step foot in dfw again if I'm lucky.

My suggestion is the sooner the better.
Did it 25 years ago (am 60 now) and have loved every minute of it. Where I am at is paid for so I have no plans of ever moving back.

Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

The right time for me was when both my kids went off to college. The housing market was crashing .... unless you live in a fantastic school district in '07. And we lived in in Allen and banked. Got a deal out in the sticks where the bus ride is three hours both ways.

If youre thinking about it....its the right time. You just have to decide to do it and make it happen. Left in 2013 and havent looked back. The only thing I miss is the Tex-Mex!

Moved to Glen Rose area in 1997 and never regretted getting out of DFW. Buy the land now, prices keep going up

I moved this past June. I'm out in Caddo Mills now. Much quieter. Retired in May 2017. Took me a year to find what I wanted. Glad I'm gone (from Metromess) now.

I'm 63, and retired 1 1/2 years ago. We moved out of N. Dallas to Cedar Creek Lake the next weekend. Now, instead of going through 9 traffic lights and 4 school zones in the 2 1/2 miles to work, The closest traffic light is 5 miles away. I don't miss the city at all.
Enough of this idle chit-chat. This ain't no retirement home. EVERYONE! Get back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
