Well, it is almost time for Dead Stick Fishing to begin and 2.5 years ago I had the perfect Drop Shot System ready to go! I had a hook mold made, bass casting sinker molds made, and enough drop shot clips to supply North America! Funny how things turn out, but I still think this is the way to go even if I'm not making these products! Fishing information and ideas should be shared so here ya go!

This new VMC Ike Flipping Hook is great! The picture you see in this quality graphic is from a hook I was working on years ago! The VMC Ike hook was very expensive 3 years ago, now not so much! You control the depth of your flukes with the length of line from 1st hook to 2nd hook, then to the sinker! 12 inches of line from sinker to 2nd hook, then another 12 inches to the first rig keeps it simple! If your sinker gets hung up it will break the 8 lb mono and leave your flukes ready to fish with a new weight!

Keep Bass Casting Sinkers in 1/2oz, 3/4oz, 1oz, 1.5oz, and 2oz! I will be fishing this system in December on Tawakoni and Big Tex! Enjoy your Dead Stick Fishing Season!

My graphics department is still pretty kicks _SS! Follow Striper Fishing Lures for more information!

Thanks for sharing. You are always thinking and I for one am glad you do. This will work and save lures.
Braid is a must for dead sticking, and that 8lb mono to the sinker will save the important part of the rig
from hangups.

Funny how prices change @ SteveStrasemeier! 2015 I could not buy that VMC Hook for under $ 1.50? Now they retail for $ 0.75!?? Gonna order a few more things from China and share that this spring! Had a lot of new stuff I was working on? Sorry it was not finished!

Do this really work when the fish bite and it able to hook? I have tried a drop shot kinda like your pic but bottom is a fluke. I always find they bite the fluke instead. Because i think since the drop shot hook is so close to the line so when they bite i am not sure it actually able to get far enough in mouth to set the hook. Because I do get many bite where i missed the hook set. So not sure if they biting the dropshot or the bottom fluke.

@ Ken Huynh

Make sure you are using the Drop Shot Clips. The clips keep the hook in position!
