Using a guide? Highly recommended. Arrange one at Ozark fly shop at swinging bridge. Spawning run usually on at Cow shoals that time of year. Can be big fluctuations in water level due to generation, but you can often drive up or down stream to work around it. Generation schedule at 501.362.5150. I already have a guide set up. I have never used a guide service before or fished for trout. I'm looking forward to it.

Jordan with Rouse fly fishing guided me on the Little Red today. I had a great time and caught about 20 trout, three different species. The McConaughy Rainbow Trout on the river are some very pretty fish. This one is a hatchery raised one, released as a fingerling. Those born wild are a little darker. This one gave some good runs and a jump. But the native browns gave a better fight and made the trip worth it.

Fished the Little Red way back in 2000 on a vacation from South Africa. Cought a couple of small trout but a local came on stream and started nailing them. Gave me a size 20 Bivisible which were producing. Nice report Mitt.

I got most of them on a tungsten-headed Pheasant Tail jig but the water picked up so we switched to an egg pattern below a big spit shot and thats when I got the big brown.
