I run a modified 3 way rig. Reg barrel swivel ( not 3 way Style) with 2 leaders 18-24” length tied to bottom eye of barrel swivel. One with a 2 ounce bank sinker and the other a 8/0-10/0 Catmaxx circle hook with 2” peg float about 4” above the hook. - you can see the 2 leaders in the first pic as hook is still in fish mouth and my sinker is in the net - but peg float got pushed up the leader fighting or netting the fish.

I’m gonna switch half the rods over to slinky drift weights with the drift weight clipped to the barrel swivel and 24-36” hook leaders with peg float and see how that does. I’ll be able to change slinky to bank sinker if needed.
Like this:

I don’t use sinker slides (or Santee Cooper Rig) because when anchored and boat rocking I’ve had the peg float raise bait to surface even in 10’ FOW (esp if just a piece of fillet on hook).........plus I run braid and have had braid cut thru the plastic slide part over time.

I tie up a Paternoster rig. Most people call it a Kentucky rig. I put a weight at the bottom, then tie two hooks above it on dropper loops. Basically like fishing for snapper.

This is my go to rig. I make my own weights. Santee rig and I vary on leader length

Are those bb’s in the clear tubing? Pretty cool! I’ve seen various versions of that.

I built some of the long weights that Chris Sounders uses in his drifting. I think they will make a difference in my hang ups.
