Anyone been on Whitney in the last couple weeks? How is it fishing? Not sure what to expect with the high water. Looks like it's dropping quite a bit the last few days. Thinking about heading down Sunday...

I think all the boat ramps are closed due to flooding.
Does anyone have a ramp open?

Thanks Diesel, I can handle that

I've heard of one or two that are still open. Making some calls today to confirm.

Did you find anything out? I tried calling Harbor Master today, which I've heard is open, but no one answered.

Tyler and I went out yesterday. Thank you for all the help. We were left pondering a few questions. We were able to catch a couple fish under the birds chunking lures but we wouldn't say it was easy fishing. We both thought that we would have caught 30 more fish than we did.

1. What is your lure of choice when chasing the birds? We through sassy shads, crank baits, slabs, ect. We caught a few on all those but it seems like when we through a larger profile swim bait that we got bit a bit more.
2. How long of a season are we able to chase birds?

I was in the blue and white Ranger center console. We chased the birds around ya'll as well. The birds weren't super productive yesterday but still snagged a couple at every stop. We managed around forty five fish mostly from a few places we saw just a few birds or loons where they pushed up shallow. We caught some really nice fish in 6'of water.
