Hydrotec is the Yamaha authority. You pay for quality. 3000 sounds pretty good to me.

Well unfortunately no one carries that powerhead anymore even though its listed on many websites out there. Guessing due to age.
looking at used motors now and may even up to a 150 since the boat is rated for it.

I would try to move up to a 4 stroke 150hp Yeah the boat isn't worth that much.  Then you could sell the motor and junk the boat when you get through with it. What boat do you have? 4995.00 eBay item number:192709268913
