I used to fish Gibbons Creek in the early 90s when I was in college. There were no white bass in the lake then. I have heard recently that there are now white bass in this lake. I have heard the bite is sometimes good. Is this true??

There are no white bass, so the bite is never good.
I saw the gibbons creek facebook page posted about white bass the other day...
Lake needs better management. Waste of what could be a decent fishery in an area that could use better fishing opportunities.

I have confirmed catches from this lake of White bass. I am not sure how they got there. Does anyone know more about how they got in this lake?

TP&W says that White Bass are a natural inhabitant of the creeks and rivers that feed our lakes. They are a native inhabitant of the environment.

That's what they said when Joe Pool filled up, and now it's full of em.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Went to Gibbons on Sunday, gate attendant said people have been doing well catching white bass and LMB. Also said he doesn't know about crappie since those guys never say much, lol.

We fished about 1.5 hours, only had 2 bites, nothing reeled in (but i'm not the most skilled angler either)

they would have to of stocked them. I have never seen any or heard of any until the recent post from the facebook page.

I'd love to see a pic of one from gibbons.
I have seen/heard people mix up fish species before, small gaspergou look a little like a whitebass, white crappie can easily be misspoken as white bass.

TPWD just did some electrofishing out there. Wish they would post the report soon.
