So this past weekend me and the kiddo went to bachman lake we started at the far eastern bridge , seemed to be really shallow so headed away from the lake to look for better spots. Came to a bend but nothing except for snags. Only had an hour to fish from 7am to 8am. Got skunked But my son managed to catch a sunfish. So it was worth the trip.

With all the rain lately the creek will be muddy. Early spring and summer it’s loaded with sunfish! Water can get super clear and fish will see you way before you see them. Keep your baits small, light tackle and long casts.

You can walk the creek pretty far back. I've caught some decent bass. Biggest was maybe 4lbs. Most were in the 1-2lb range.

Sunfish are plentiful and will swarm the right bait.

The deepest part, from the rec center to the dam, is about 12ft.

Most of the lake is under 6ft. I was surprised how much was under 3ft.

It's a good lake for Bass, Crappie and Sunfish. Lots of action in the warmer months, never fished it this time of year.
