Slow day on Fayette...water temp 73 degrees & wind howling. Fished 7:15 - 11:00. Got 4 small gills, 2 bass (one real nice) & one 3-4 lb catfish. Wanted to fish deeper trees, but wind wouldn't cooperate. Fall colors starting to show. Got fotosketcher software to make pics look like watercolor, oil or pencil sketch. All photos taken today except for Pa Pas fish-kid rug-rat...

As always Vogey great post! Looks like you have a lifetime fishing buddy! thumb

Side Note: I think all of this resent RAIN has played a factor in the fall bite in a negative way! I think the bigger fish have moved to deeper water in the larger water bodies. Just my two cents. 2cents Hopefully Dunlap will start clearing up and the fish settle down! hmmm

Banker...I agree with you, and my game plan was to fish the deep trees today, but the wind was so bad in all 3 of the deep areas I had targeted that it made it almost impossible to fish. Wanted to fish for bass more as well, but the tendonitis set in & every cast was painful with the bass gear...I guess what they say is true...getting old aint for sissies !

We still have some GREAT years ahead Vogey! It's was very slow fishing for me and Rick(Catyakker) as well! Fished two creeks and not very many fish over 8 inches! All the past and current flooding really has messed up a lot of water bodies! nuts

Nice post Vogey! woot That wind can be a huge problem on any lake and Fayette being one of them. bang Great job on landing some nice fish! coolio Looks like your Grandson is getting ready to hit the fishing trail! hooked

Side Note: Vogey: I have heard that during the winter that the out take area of the lake holds some nice bass and is a good place to catch some nice Bluegill. Have you fished there during the winter months? noidea

Vogey- I've been fighting a bad elbow for a good bit of time now, some mornings after fishing all day prior, I can barely pick up a cup of coffee. That said, I wear an Aircast pneumatic armband while fishing and will use a Tens unit for electrotherapy before and after fishing. You can get both for under $50 at CVS/Walgreens/Walmart. Without those 2 doohickeys, I would barely be able to chase fish.

Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

Laker...by take out area do you mean where you take your boat out, or where the warm water comes out ? I have always caught bass at the water intake, but have not really fished there for bluegill.
Fitz...Thanks for the elbow advice...our problem sounds the same...I am currently trying various compression contraptions & seriously considering getting a cortisone shot in the affected right elbow.
