Does anyone have any suggestions for insurance companies? There are so many and all with similar premiums. This is my first boat (2001 Tige) so don't want to get stuck with bad insurance.

I found United Marine Underwriters, Insurers: American Modern Insurance Group. They seem to have great coverage for a good premium and deductibles, anyone deal with them in the past or hear of a good company.

I would like this to help us all know which insurance we can trust banana and who to avoid bolt

I have USAA, which uses Progressive. Truthful I never really shopped around.

I use Geico, have not had a claimn yet, but the process was easy. I have added boat upgrades and all they require was a copy of bill of sale for proof, this to up my boat value.

I use Traveler's, had a claim. paid immediately after adjustment. No matter who you choose, the policy contents are most important. Get a no depreciation clause, for the motor, and get plenty of value coverage for equipment in the boat, rods/reels, electronics, etc.

Call Bob on his cell phone and he will go through it with you.

I talked to him on Friday and he sent me the quote on Monday with 2 different options in regard to deductibles.

I am in the process of getting the VIN's etc. and getting them back to him. flag

Just finished a claim with Safeco. Virtually sunk my Ranger when lake came up 5 feet overnight and boat was chained short. They have a "Marine Specialist" he was located in Washington State, but he procesed the claims quickly and without any problems at all. The claim involved clearing the engine, draining gas & oil, drying and cleaning seats, replacing carpet and detailing the boat to clean out all of the muck. Problem someone use to handling auto claims wouldn't have understood all of that. Good luck
