Well with a break from the rain for a few days i decided to do an overnight trip to PK and do a little fishing, hiking, exploring, etc... The trip was great, Palo Pinto County really is a beautiful place. Camped at the public use BRA campgrounds right on the lake. Campsite was empty basically and very quiet overall for a public campsite.
Fishing absolutely sucked haha, i just couldn't figure them out. I caught a tiny bass within minutes of fishing from the kayak close to a dock with a jig & craw trailer. That was the last bite I got all weekend. I threw everything i had, and nothing. I understand the flooding wreaked havoc, you can clearly tell from the rust looking water color. I still had a great time but cant wait for the effects of all this rain to wear off our local bodies of water.
What have any of you guys had luck with throwing out there under normal conditions? Gonna try to hit Whitney this upcoming weekend weather permitting.

Looks like a great time! Good photo of the dam! I've never had any luck in the Brazos during or after a flood. I think they pretty much shut down and seek shelter. Good on you getting out there though! Beats the couch.

That water color and the open gates also shut me down late last week. I couldn't find anything that worked under those conditions. Water clarity has been great this year on the lower end of the lake and my top producers have been wacky rigged Senkos and 3" swim baits. Some days crank baits were working but normally not any better than the senkos and swim baits. Hope the lake clears up for some late November bass fishing.
