The wife and I are headed to garner state park in a couple weeks and are gonna take the kayaks with us. We have never been and wondering how the fishing was down there? From reading just a little bit the past couple days it seems like the LMB fishing is decent within the state park. Anyone have any tips or tricks? I heard light line as well. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

You might check with park officials. That whole area was flooded out a couple of weeks ago. eeks

THey got a ton of rain the last few weeks but overall from what I saw last year when we went overall the majority of the water is very shallow. We brought a canoe last year and paddled around by the dam for a while but this year I will most likely leave it home.

I'd try the river below the dam if you want to kayak it.
