Chuck roasts were really cheap at Krogers so I decided to try my hand at smoking 2 of them like brisket, along with chicken, ribs, and pork tenderloin.

I thought those ribs smelled a little funny. They were ruined... rancid. Threw them out. Chicken and Pork Tenderloin turned out great though. Chuck roasts are still cooking.

Now for the chuck roast. It tastes great and is juicy. I don't like slicing it at all. Think I will stick to brisket next time.

You used to be able to get chuck roast at most BBQ joints years ago. I'm sure there are some places that still do. They called it "Shoulder" or "Shoulder Clod".

"Clod" is the term that meat packers use to describe the front shoulder, or chuck on a cow.

The BBQ joints usually also sold Brisket. I guess Brisket won out in the long run, as you hardly see clod anymore.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.
