I've always TX rigged mine as well.

TX rig with a 5/0 EWG of your choice. Slice up the front end of the tube so the hook doesn't catch

IMO. For Texas rigging... use a kahle style hook.. either the Eagle Claw trokar tube hook in a size 4/0 or 5/0 for flipping tubes... And use the eagle claw HP Shaw Grigsby tube hook with a clip for the smaller tubes.. the problem with a standard EWG hook is that the tube will tend to "Bunch up"in the deepest part of your hook and you will lose fish because of it.. otherwise by a handful of the Strike King tube jigs and try exposed hook rigging if you can get away with it.. but then that's why we buy them by the handful.

I have 3 packages of 4/0 Shaw Grigsby HP Hooks (Eagle Claw) that are great for tubes that I can mail you. I dont typically fish tubes unless I stupid tube them, so if you PM me your address I will mail them to you if you want to try them out. They have been sitting in my overstock box for nearly 2 years now and I just need to give them to someone that will use them.

Owner rigging hook is my go to for a tube

Trokar Tube hook - just make sure to go in the nose at a downward angle & not straight in to the nose.

Still prefer the Shaw Grigsby HP hook myself when Texas Rigging a tube.
