Lews are very nice reels for the money. I think they have some good closeout models on Tacklewarehouse right now. You can also score an Abu Revo STX on sale for around that price point, maybe a hair less.

Academy has the revo alx in the 6.4 gears on sale right now for 139, seen mixed reviews but may be worth a try. Also, I own all different brands from metanium mgl to core 100mg and I picked up a fuego ct for 69.99 in the 7.3 gear ratio. I have had absolutely ZERO issues with it and it will straight up bomb a spro bronzeye frog, made a few casts with it that went 50+ yards. Not sure if they will all do that or if I just got a good one but for the price I paid, theres a reason why it stays on my frog rod....

I used STXs for quite a while but hate the gen4 STX. Went to a Lew's Tournament Pro G (on clearance from Tacklewarehouse for $140 or so) and won't buy an Abu again. Awesome reel, fits great in the hand, smooth.

13 fishing concept reels all day My collection is narrowed down to both the Concept A's and Daiwa Tatula SV TW's. Have to say I personally give the Concept A's the edge. To me they just feel right in my hand and have given me ZERO issues over the couple of years that I've owned them. My SV TW's are prettty nice as well but one thing that bugs me is the way I sometimes hold them the magnetic break knob gets turned up. Probably should put a piece of tape over them and that would solve the problem. Either way both can be found on Ebay for under $160 from reputable sellers.

Wow no Daiwa love here I guess lol. You really can't go wrong with the Tatula SV series these days for a mid level budget reel... I've said before I have about 15 Steez's and tuned up TD-Z's and the like, but if I had to start all over again I would probably grab a few Tatula CT SV's for pitching/soft plastics and the Tat CT or Tat 100/150/200 for casting baits depending on line capacity desired, and call it a day.
