What do you think the fresh water will do to the fish in the Matagorda bays with the Colorado river flooding?

I think the model from NOAA is wrong as it has the Colorado dumping into the gulf but I believe most of the fresh water from that river now goes into West Matagorda.

I agree with Karstopo, the model is wrong. East Matty will be fine, in fact it will help fishing and should be good on the south and west shoreline. Granted this weekends weather is not going to help fishing. Might try to catch some flounder in the ICW and cuts off the ICW.

West Matty will be fresh in the upper to middle part of the bay... the South shoreline towards greens and cottens might still have a little fishable water. It really depends on how long the flow last. it's a big slug of water that's for sure but West Matty is very big.. I'd give it a couple of weeks and then it should mix with the wind and tide. i'd hit east matty right now.
