Does anyone tie with squirrel tails? If so do they take to a dye very well?

I have a good many that are dyed by Hareline. So they dye them. Let me get a pic from their site.

I use squirrel tail quite a bit. It has a good action in the water. I have not tried dying it as they are pretty cheap already dyed. I found these on EBay

Those look great! I have so many squirrel's that I hate to waste the tails. Feed the squirrels to the dogs cause the wife doesn't want to eat them!

Thank you sir!
Since you already have the tails then i would suggest using kool-aid to dye them. I have dyed axis fur with it and it worked great. its cheap and the colors are vibrant and very easy to do.

Are the tails being bleached first? How would you get such bright colors if tails are dark?

I split the tails from the underside then dry in salt. Axis tails are white along the edge and dark in the middle so the bright yellow and green is the white edge you are seeing. The brown does take the color just not as much as the white. Btw that color was supposed to be chartreuse. I used one package lime flavor and one package lemonade.
