I have only been fishing the lake since late June. But I am veteran fisherman. I just moved back to fishing freshwater after 35 years of hard offshore and bat fishing. Even ran charters in both.

I had bee catching a lot of White Bass, this past Friday the fishing was terrible. The water temps have been as high as 86 degrees in the past couple weeks but Friday the lake was 75 degrees to start the day. It warmed up to 78 by the time I left, but I didn't need all the ice I normally do.

I searched everywhere and finally found one school that was tight to the bottom...it was the they had disappeared!

We will be staying in Yegua Creek campground. Fishing in a Baby Blue Blue Wave 22STL. Any info about where to start and what to fish with much appreciated. Maybe this cold snap will help, but all the fresh water may not be good either.

Usually fish with slabs / rattle traps / little George / and troll to find them with hellbenders with a trailing jig. Just haven't fished this lake at all. Meeting a friend from Katy for this outing.

Appreciate your post. If your on the lake maybe we can hook up.

We find em ill let you know?

Cliff,
I'm not sure this current cool snap is going to help.

I did find some fish schoold up on the north end of the dam, but they didn't like what I was dragging.

White's slowed down for me in mid September, not much good action since then. Would be curios if anyone else is still catching them. I mostly troll with pet spoon.

Just got back from Somerville. Weather was terrible and boat remained in the shop, so NO FISHING AT ALL. watched some guys off the camp sight and saw no one catching anything.

Will try alter in the year when buddies boat is out of shop.

headed to bay fish first weekend in November.
