Hey,

I have put together a course of instruction for basic Tournament angling in regards to the logistics and rules for fishing a bass tournament. I am focusing on the High School Tournament community due to the minimal access to this style of coaching from what I have found. There are numerous Bass Guides out there that in their own elements are absolutely unbeatable. I am not a Guide and I am not going to Coach you on the science behind bass fishing. I however will give you the knowledge you will need to operate in the tournament community without worrying about violating the rules or ethics of the sport. There are numerous variations of Bass Tournament rules, I will be focusing on the THSBA rules and regulations as well as common rules from other tournament trails. I have seen countless issues come up during tournaments due to not understanding the rules or the proper ethics in this sport. The basic knowledge of how to measure a fish can get you in trouble if you dont know how to do it.

I have a long history of Coaching/instruction as well as Competing as a tournament Archer for approximately 15 years. Due to eye issues I gave up archery about 5 years ago for Tournament Bass fishing. I have worked with Scott Gordon (Big Bass Tour TD) on his Bass Pro Shops Bass Tournaments Series as his assistant Tournament director for 3 years. I am a current Police Officer with 18 years experience and Police Instructor. There is so much more to list and I can get you references if needed and I totally understand due to the nature of working with juveniles. I have spent the last 4 years learning and soaking up as much information as possible from some of the most respected anglers in the DFW area. This is the knowledge I intend to share. Having this information will set you up for success and put you in front of the 8-ball instead of being behind it. The sport itself can be stressful, why add to that by worrying about not knowing if you violated a rule or not knowing what to expect at weigh in. This in a nut shell is what I am aiming for, understanding the Tournament environment.

Coaching will be on the water in your boat or mine and in a hands on environment. PM me for contact information as well as cost for a 6hr-8hr course of instruction. My instruction will not break your bank and is priced well below the industry norm for a 6-8hr on the water instruction. I have teamed up with a well-known area FLW pro James Biggs who already conducts advanced on the water instruction trips. He is who I highly recommend after the initial instruction I will give. He will give instruction on everything from Lake Breakdown to specific fishing techniques. Again, PM me for more information. I look forward to working with you and getting you up to speed and thriving in the tournament environment.

Coaching will take place in the DFW area lakes or within reason, Below is a list of topics we will discuss and demonstrate when possible

[list]
[*]THSBS rules,complete overview and study
[*]Boat Set-up and tournament inventory
[*]Fish care and weigh-in procedures
[*]proper technique for measuring bass
[*]Proper technique for culling bass during a tournament
[*]Cull ring use and common mistakes
[*]working within the tournament environment while on the water
[*]Boat operation
[*]Loading and unloading boat at ramp - common mistakes
[*]Boater/Angler etiquette while competing and how the rules apply
[*]Basic map study and common terms used to identify structure

I recommend Erin without hesitation and am honored to offer my endorsement. Erin has a deep passion for bass fishing and has been an invaluable partner to our regional tournaments. I consider Erin to be amongst my closest friends, and more importantly I found Erin to be a man of integrity and character rarely seen today. He is dedicated to the continued growth of high school bass fishing in Texas and his training will provide each student an invaluable training experience.

I highly recommend him to teach you boat operations & rules. Once you have a grasp on the basics Ill be glad to help to you a system to pattern bass year round.

I have captained a few high school tournaments and would highly recommend this. Erin is a great guy and displays selfless service to the DFW community.

Be sure to add bouys 101. I didn't get close enough to get TX registration numbers on Fork last week, so no, I didn't alert the officials. But, I saw a boat coming out of the docks in the back of the SRA cove past the Restricted Area bouys on Saturday.
