How far below the jugs do you usually have your hooks?

Ed, I cut a length of line 12 feet long. I tie one hook at the bottom, a second hook three feet up from that, and the place a 0.5 ounce weight about an inch or two above that. The other than attaches to my jug is attached with a Triple Threat Snap Swivel.
