I know both baits have their time and situation BUT which do you prefer to throw?

I feel like I will always be biased to a frog but recently I've started liking the Whopper Plopper more for open water situations.

There's a time and place for both I suppose but I haven't found either one. Got two Whopper Ploppers and two frogs and haven't caught a bass on either. Guess I stay out in deep water too much. Don't care much for spinner baits either. Problem is all my fault I guess.

I prefer throwing a frog, but I primarily fish lakes where the technique is more applicable.

In early Spring I enjoy throwing a Whooper Plopper over grass mats when they are still a foot or two under the surface.

In sloppy, weedy, paddy conditions it's the frog.
In stumpy, ambush-type water it's the plopper.Of course...throw that frog in the dark....game changer.

frog hands down. I�ve caught more fish between 4-7lbs on a frog this year than just about anything else.

The frog is definitely something I have WAY more confidence in, just because of the places I can throw it. I've made some tight cast under cover with the plopper but all it takes is one small branch or piece of grass and it's a wasted cast. What's really interesting though is I went out to a small lake with a friend, that probably doesn't get fished a lot, and he caught almost 3 times as many fish as me when he threw the small 90 whopper plopper. I got blow ups on the frog but it seemed like they just hated that loud racket the plopper made.

They both have their time and place that's for sure.

Maybe I'm not fishing the whopper plopper right. I can't catch them on the darn things. Frogs for me.

Depends on the cover I'm casting at, one is weedless the other is not.
