Hello all,

I am looking to start fishing. I just moved close to Joe Poole lake after getting a divorce after 39 years of marriage.

My history is growing up in Tombstone Arizona, then Military Police in Louisiana and Alaska in the 70's,

Made custom knives for 25 years and wrote for a knife magazine (hence the name)as side income for several years.

Welded and built trailers, gates, tools and other stuff in spare time after day job as engineering manager for a telecom company.

Now all busted up from a hit and run motorcycle accident that left me with bad injuries that I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life. Can't do much anymore (hate having the knowledge but not the ability anymore) but hoping fishing will help pass the time and put food in the freezer to offset the grocery bill.

If anyone fishes Joe Poole lake from the bank (I have no boat) and does not mind showing me the ropes I would really appreciate it. Does not have to be long term, just a trip or two so I know the rules and how to fish for something in addition to catfish. I like sand bass, I've had it before but open to all kinds.

I'll buy the drinks and snacks or dinner on the way there if that makes it easier to allow someone to tag along with you.

Due to my physical condition I no longer work so am free 24/7 to go fishing. I can meet your schedule 99% of the time.

Will need suggestions for gear prior to going so I can get the minimum needed for the first attempt.

Thanks for reading and hope someone has time for a training session to help me out.

Bob

Check out the Lynn Creek Marina fishing barge. Usually a few folks there that you can observe and get ideas from. Easy fishing.

Welcome aboard. welcome
