The good rains lately have the lake on the rise so we will take what we can get, maybe we can be full going into the winter!
Sorry I've been doing more vacationing than fishing but I can tell you the catfishing should be really good in the flowing creeks!
For me I'll be looking for the Sandbass and Hybrid Striper when I start back fishing!
I like to start at safe light looking for any signs of feeding fish, like birds working or fish breaking the suface.
If I don't run across anything by the time I get to the Dam, I'll start running my graphsover the main spots , like Pelican Island, 309 flats, wind dock plus many other places.
No doubt there will be catfish holding on the deeper ledges but I'm looking for the hybrids or sandbass. With a few Shad in the tank maybe I can catch a big hybrid or two!
Depending on the day sometimes your bite is going to be early morning not lasting more than a hour or two, and then other days fish may not really get going until mid morning and last half the day or maybe they just bite all day long!
You never really know when the best time is to go fishing but I really like the Fall season coming up for catching a lots of quality fish!
There's usually a window of time in the Fall fish turn on and that's mid October to mid December!
To schedule your trip today call Bob Holmes longest running Fishing Guide in the History of Richland Chambers and still the lake Record Holder!
