Been a while since Ive posted anything surf fishing related so I figured id give a quick report. Surf fishing has been decent and should only get better. Lots of bait in the water right now. Been fishing quite a bit lately and have caught numerous bull reds, sharks and stingray. Ive got 3 surf rods that I deploy. I stagger them when I cast to try to see where the fish are holding. After I catch one then Ill move the other lines accordingly. Ive talked to several people on the beach who said they didnt catch anything. When asked what type of bait they used, they replied with mullet. Ive had several trips where I couldnt get bit on mullet but as soon as I changed to croaker, whiting or sand trout, I started catching. So dont get hung up on one bait or one location. Heres some pics from recent trips.

Thank you for your report! I struggled with Mullet earlier this year as well. How far out are the reds hanging right now?

I will be there at the end of the month for a conference. Hopefully I can get in to some of those bull reds!

Thanks,
Olen
