 15" vs 20" transom

Hi, I am contemplating to buy a boat and I see some boats allow me to choose between 15" transom or 20" transom, I understand this would impact the selection of the outboard other than that what is the advantage or disadvantage of choosing one or another?

20 is common. 15 really limits your motor choices.
