I just moved to this area and have young kids who like to shore fish. We have worn out marine creek and are looking for more spots close to go after school and work a couple hours with decent bank fishing.

Keller Haslet Rd has some neighborhoods on the left hand side, plenty of ponds, and decent fish in them as well. Mcpherson Ranch is the name of it i want to say. Keller Haslet & Alta Vista Rd.

Both Southlake and Northlake parks in Denton have ponds with good fishing. Southlake (aka Eureka) is stocked as a neighborhood fishery and one of the ones at North lakes has some awesome frog fishing for bass. Also lots of perch and catfish and they even stock trout in Southlakes in the winter. Good and safe area. State Parks in Texas also have fishing from the bank (don't even need a license) inside the park boundaries. Purtis Creek is a beautiful place to camp and fish!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

If you go to the bank fishing section there is a pinned thread at the top with a map of tons of places to fish from shore.

I have a couple of suggestions a little to the north of you:
Trophy Club Park / Marshall Creek in Trophy Club. It's on the far west end of Grapevine Lake. The shore has a lot of brush, so not ideal, but some decent fishing.

Old Alton Bridge / Hickory Creek just SW of Denton (far west end of Lake Lewisville). This can be a great spot for crappie and sand bass in the spring. I caught a nice hybrid there a couple years ago.

JHIBBARD, welcome to the TFF. I live in Saginaw. Close to Marine creek. Send me a PM with your number. I will meet you and your kids and take you to some places to bank fish. Its easier then telling you.

Yep. Just click on the highlighted "Texas Google Bank Fishing Map" on the top post. Lots of area info here. Here you go: http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt...Map#Post6012810
