Looking for a good topo map of lavon showing structure and timber.
Do not have a smart pone so needs to be waterproof "paper" map.
What is a good one to look for?

You can always go to Bass Pro/Cabelas and get the Fishing Hot Spots maps, they're pretty cheap and accurate. I never really use them, the Navionics webapp is more than enough for me. You can check Lavon out on your home computer beforehand here.

From the TPWD website on Lavon, "free maps are available at the USACE office (972) 442-3141"

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

The lake is down four feet. A lot of the timber is visible, but still be very careful up north. There are still stumps just below the surface, and believe it not, the occasional iron T-post sticking up ready to ruin your day.

I saw a fence line sticking up out of water up at Highland Park last week.
I am in a kayak so not as big a danger as if going faster in a boat but can still cause problems.
With all the rain surprised the lake level has only come up less than a foot.
Thanks for the warning.
