My old man talks about a Crankbait called the tin foil shad. I’m trying like hell to remember this Crankbait when I was young but can’t. I have done a few small searches with no luck. Was this a real bait and would anyone happen to have a picture or the actual bait? Thanks in advance

I have them in the shop put away some place. They are Bagley baits. Bagley made a top water Prop. Bait and a Crank Bait. I have them both.

That is indeed the tinfoil shad finish. They had several crankbaits in that finish but the Killer Bee 2 was my fav...,(the old one had a round bill I believe..a great bait but eventually they all get broken and start taking on water..

thumb They were made of balsa wood and all had great action. one of my favorite baits. I wish Bagley would start making them again.

They featured one in Bassmaster magazine that was foil as well, but I don't remember the name.

Tin foil shad is the color, the bait is actually called the Bagley small fry shad.

Josh, I believe I have some in my stuff packed away currently. I will check when I go through them next, and if I have some, you can have them for free.

Triton Mike Bucca covered many a bait in tin foil and sold them with his doodads. That was back in the early 2000s, though, do not know if that is what you are talking about or not. GOOD baits in cloudy days, too. Gary Dees, who makes the Dbaits used to sell one, too, as mentioned above. GREAT BAITS all the way around. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Oh My Gosh Tom that would be so cool!! You are such a stand up dude buddy. I’d give them to my old man!

Thanks guys for the reply’s. I now remember two Crankbaits similar to what Donald posted. One was silver and one was gold. Those were the baits I thought they were in my head but wasn’t sure. That gold one used to catch them EVERYWHERE!

Some of the old school bow jacks crankbaits were in foil colors silver and gold also.
