-Boat is 16'9, flat bottom tunnel 6ft wide. -50hp tohasu tldi -Total weight boat/motor/batteries/gas, loaded with 2 passengers/gear/full livewell: 1500lbs. -Max motor rpm 5850 -Current prop: powertech SS 3 blade 12 pitch, cupped. -Motor is mounted high, with a little trim the prop is on the tunnel, kinda like a manual jack plate
Boat runs WOT 28mph, rpm 5800. Prop bites good and I can trim almost all the way out of the water before it starts to slip. Hole shot is good.
My problem is if I add more weight, like an extra passenger, it will take forever to plane.
Will a 4 blade prop fix this, or is this a HP problem?

do you have a jack plate?
when loaded with extra passenger a jack plate will move the center of gravity farther back allowing for better bow lift and reduce the prop slip.
may i suggest a 4" rapid jack.
call if you'd like to talk about or purchase one.
thanks
