We spent the Labor W/E fishing every morning and evening at either Packery Channel or Port Aransas Jetty searching for kings. We fished hard and only managed to reel in one king and hooked another but the Gotcha hook came off at the rocks. We never saw anyone catch any kings at all. I figured since the water temp is around 84 degrees which is the reason why kings are not plentiful. Questions I have

1. What is the best month to target kings from the bank in Port Aransas area
2. Water temp should drop into the 70s in the next month or two, will King Mackerel fishing pick up? what is the best month in the fall?
3. What is your favorite surf fishing lure for kings?
4. There is Bob Hall and Horace Caldwell pier in the area, do you prefer the jetty or the pier when fishing for kings

Thanks,
