I have a fly rod that is about a year old. It has been handled many a time and seen quite a bit of action.

However, the wood putty/filler that is in the cork has been coming out.

Is there a brand of filler that you would recommend for a light refurbish??

Use the wood filler to fill holes let dry lightly sand. Wipe off all dust and then seal will cork seal.

THANK YOU!!

I heard about the oak wood filler. But it sure does help when you have multiple people saying the same thing. This may sound crazy to some, but it is disheartening to put the work into a project just to find out your efforts are in vain.

The cork seal is golden!! I have heard of using other products but have been hesitant. I use to build fences for a living and know what a water based sealer will and will not do. LOL.

This is awesome and thank you!!!!

Or you could use the Winn wrap to recover the handle.

For small fills and repairs, I use cork dust I have sanded off a piece of cork, mix it in superglue(quickly), and daub it into the crevice with a Popsicle stick(does anyone remember Popsicles?). Then gently sand the excess away. IslandJim

Most fly rod companies have unconditional warranty.
You might get rod replaced under warranty.
