It is the lightning map in real time of the US.

If you open your weather app and cycle a radar map to see what direction that rain may be heading your way, then you can go to this map and see how electrical the storm is. I use this tool all of the time and fish in the rain CONSTANTLY - and pretty safely. Also catch schooling sandies almost every time.

Right now on Accuweather, it shows a little storm southwest of the metroplex:



Then check for strikes:


And even though that little system might be raining like all get out, there have been no strikes reported - FISH ON!
