Need to purchase a used depth finder with gps for my small aluminum boat. I would like to find out which units you folks think would be best. I can't afford one of the newer ones but hopefully someone can educate me on a good older model. I really don't care which brand. Just want one I can find the crappie and brush piles with. Thanks in advance for your help.

Look at some of the Lowrance refurbished units. A lot of locator/GPS for not much money.

I have a Humminbird 899 CI HD with a ram mount that is about 3 years old. $300. I'm even coming to Hoover at the end of the month. Bought a another boat that already had electronics built in.

Searched Dick's and found the unit for $179. Did not have the gps with it. Any other ideas? Does not have to be new. Tell me what kind you use and what it does for you. Keep in mind that I have limited money and can't afford a $1000 one.

very easy on the Helix 5 ..1 button push puts the location in the file and names it 001 and so on.then later choose from the file the one you want to go to ,select it and follow the arrow!
