Better make a reservation laugh JK, Squaw is full. http://www.lakelevels.info/USA/Texas/ They pump out of Granbury to offset the steady drop due to evaporation from surface temps of 100 close to discharge on dam end. Don't fish around dicharge area if you like sushi cus these fish are already cooked. Most people either fish up the river(Squaw Creek) which is as far from the discharge as you can get but temps are still pretty warm up there. If you are any good with your electronics(or want to get good) graph out some DEEP points, ledges and Creek channels. You can find some big concentrations this way. Have fun & post your results. Old Squaw dosnt make the news in the summer like it does daily in the winter...maybe cus hardly no one goes!

Yea I know I hear people talking about why would anyone one to fish that in the summer but I just want to get out and fish something different and its close by so Ill try it out. My home lake is granbury.

I already have a reservation 👍

Yea not very good with the electronics yet... try to watch videos and read and then put it to the test out on the water but its my patients that usually gets in my way. Im gonna have to learn sooner or later though!

fish are biting and you don't really have to go all the way up the river either. find some deep points and look for bait and fish. a drop shot will get you bit really good this time of the year. spoons and c-rigs work well too.

Any pointers on what to throw? It has pretty decent visibility doesnt it? More natural colors then? C rigs, T rigs, jigs, swim baits?

Not asking for anyones secrets just a few pointers because the girlfriend will be with me and I know I will need to figure something out quick or she is going to get impatient Hahahaha

Im going to be there as soon as they open the gates so I was also hoping to catch some what of a top water bite in the morning.

Have her throw some small moving baits. Small traps, beetle spin, KVD 1.0, she should catch a few. This is what I do when I take the kids.
