Yes but you have to go up the to the river end to find it. Lots of milfoil and coontail most of the hydrilla is gone unless you know where to find it There's no river that runs into Lake Tyler and no Hydrilla.

I meant the north end, the north end of the east lake has a lot of grass in that bay right before the bridge.. and theres a small amount of hydrilla left, not fishable by any means

There is no best side. If you are catching on the old lake you can catch them on the east lake.
