We're getting some good rain this afternoon in hill country outside of Austin.

It's obviously been hot and dry lately.

Anyone have advice/insights as to if the fishing picks up (or how it changes) the day after a rain, when we've had a dry spell?

I'm thinking the slight increase in current and just the fact that it's a change may help and it maybe worth going in the morning.

Thanks.

Fish as far back into the floodwaters as you can. Some bass push way up usually.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

When the lake comes up a foot or so they will be in any new growth on the shoreline. I like to fish the mix. That is not to muddy of water but stained. I am sure you will have to get out of the river to get that mix. Throw a single spin hammered deep cup Colorado Gold blade in a dark Blue Gill pattern on one rod and a White and Chart. on another. The Spook has been good to me next to the flooded bushes at day break in the right areas of any lake.
