I would like to know your opinion on which jig head is better for coming thru the rocks: Football head or Round head ?

+1 Just get football heads and a plug knocker when you absolutely have to have it back and deal with losing a handful of them.
If you can't find em wind em.

Use 20lb line, learn to tell when it slides in between 2 rocks or under the front of one. Use tension pull line tight drop rod fast and most of time it will bounce out of that. Between two rocks is a pain but can get out at right angle

I found that if I point the rod at the spot and pull straight back, it pops out more times than not. I don't know or care why but it works.
Real trucks don't need spark plugs.

I prefer round head but I lose my fair share. Sometimes I'll go a couple trips without losing any and then some days I'll lose 5 or so. A buddy of mine who owns a jig company says he uses brush jigs around rocks and that they don;t hang up very often. I like my round head finesse jigs too much to find out for myself

Round head will get stuck less, especially in chunk rock.

They all get stuck but I catch a lot of fish on the initial fall which is my favorite way to solve the problem! Jig heads and plastics are relatively cheap so I break off when I am stuck rather than spoil a spot. I use spot removers, the ones that are flat on one side.
See you on the lake and have a great day!
