I think I understand the question.
However, is there a dollar amount associated with this question?
Factory reels or customs?
For me, it is a peaked and tuned Abu 5500 (or 5600) with 8 bearings.

WOW, I thought 5500 and 6500 were heavy.
I would be willing to spend as much as 250.00

LOL. My bad.
I was interpreting your question as baitcastig reels that could throw very light lures.
My 5500/5600’s can cast 1/8 oz lures very well. However, the over all weight of the reel is not “light...”
Thanks for putting up with me!!

Aldebaran is the lightest at 4.5 Daiwa steez sv tws 5.6 Lews super mag 5.5
The Lews is the best bang for the buck but only comes in 7.5 and 8.3 ratio. It has a 20 lb drag, can cast lights stuff, holds a lot of line etc. I have all mine half full with mono and taped off so I can re spool 100 yards as needed.
I have only these three reels left in my arsenal.
You can get the LEWS on ebay for 208-226 each shipped new. Alde 306 new shipped. Daiwa 500 each.

Any of the 13 Fishing reels, or the Team Lews Lite.
My fav reel I own is the 13 Concept TX with the Concept C in a close second. TX is 5.9 oz, C is 6.2oz
Lews Lite is 5.7 and is the most bombproof reel money can buy. $240 at the store, but look on eBay. I got mine for $175 brand new, sealed up in the box, still had tags hanging on it

I know there's going to be a lot of disagreement on this, but I'd stay away from Aldebarans. A guy at the reel counter at bass pro showed me all the flaws with it because I was about to buy one. He showed me 4 different things wrong with them and it made me back out of buying them . You can get so much better reels for half of the price of the Aldebaran.

I use Revo MGX or Revo MGXtreme reels exclusively for finesse fishing and have no problem casting 1/8 oz jigs with 1/8 oz trailers. The MGX is 5oz. and the MGXtreme is 4-1/2oz. I know lot of people don't like these reels, but if you adjust them correctly they will cast a country mile. You can also get these used in excellent condition for half of MSRP.

Whats wrong with them? I have a few still and they seem like a fine piece of equipment and they ARE the lightest reels made period as far as Ive ever seen. The only complaint I have is the cast control is hard to adj, so I only use them on dedicated set ups now.
