You never know what might be floating in the lake. While running across the middle of Lewisville yesterday we almost hit something. Turned out to be a jetskier that had fallen off his ski while trying to retrieve his hat. He couldn't swim fast enough to catch up with the drifting ski. After picking him up we found his jetski washed ashore across the lake. He was so tired from swimming that he could barely stand. It was quite windy and rough at the time. This ended well but could have been tragic. Be careful on the water and keep alert for floating objects.[

Good Job
On the weekends I never run over about 45 mph. I always worry there will be a kid bobbing out in the middle of the lake, that fell off a tube or something

Glad you were able and did help him. Thanks for the advice, I have a hard enough time just watching out for other boats, never crossed my mind that someone could be in the water too. Will be watching out for that from here on out.

and your ears !! a couple of years ago , my neighbor was in the back yard , barely heard someone yelling for help. A fellow had jumped in to the lake to cool off, wind blew his pontoon away faster than he could swim. By the time Rick could lower his boat and make the rescue, the man was exhausted , would not have lasted much longer. He told Rick he had already accepted the fact that he was a goner.

I totally agree. I was at LOP about this time of year last year and while motoring I approached something that looked like it was about a foot above water level and bouncing up and down with the waves. I slowed down and eased up on it. It was a huge, submerged houseboat that was just drifting around. Anyone hitting that thing at any amount of speed whatsoever would have had major, major problems. I called the COE from my cell phone and reported it....and attached a few marker buoys around it. Be careful guys and gals.
