I have a long weekend, just got a new boat, and I'm trying to fish 3 different lakes in 3 days. Any suggestions on where to go in the Austin area?

White bass are schooling on Belton, catch one every cast 8-13" if action is what you are after.

I haven't had much luck anywhere lately. I was on LBJ this afternoon. Too much traffic from the jet skis and Ski Boats. I plan on hitting Buc in the morning. Minner Bucket, where did you fish and what bait were you using. The fishing was good before they started dropping the water again. I haven't been back sense.

I tried a little bit of everything in a lot of different places. Tried top water for the first 2 hours and only had 1 blow up. Went out deep and scanned and fished by the dam and caught a couple. I dont know the lake very well and still trying to figure it out. Dang whites were schooling all over. I had to throw at em just so I knew what a fish felt like. Threw at the brush with about 6 different lures and never had a bite. Oh well, thats fishing, let us know how it was today.

Does Decker get crazy with jet skis and ski boats during the day? or is it mostly fishermen?

I have been tearing them up on the Lower Colorado in between Austin and Bastrop. Decker and Bastrop are also hot right now. Let me know if you need a fishing partner!

I think maybe 6am? There's a credit card payment kiosk if nobody is in the booth. It's pretty slow in the summer and there will be some jet skis and rec boats out there

No smallmouth on the Lower Colorado, but you'll find Guadalupe bass, the state fish of Texas. They fight hard like a smallie - lots of angry head shakes. The state record guad came out of the LoCo.
