I'm wanting to try shooting docks, but the lakes I frequently fish don't have docks deep enough for good shooting. I live in Cleburne, so would Granbury offer plenty of opportunities?

I would think so. James Davis fishes out there a lot and can probably give you a depth range to try.

Plenty of deep water docks to shoot. Look for the ones that are on steep banks. With the current water level, you don�t have to �shoot� them, just cast.

I was wondering about the water level. At least I should have a pretty good time fishing, instead of banging jigs on and over the docks.

Where's the preferred ramp to launch?

The city ramp or the one beside Stumpys. Make sure you run in the marked river channel. Lots and lots of exposed timber and shallow sand (mud) bars showing up.

I know this goes against the grain a bit...some of my best shooting docks in this heat, have less than 3� of water under them. Deep water is relatively related to the lake. I can catch them in numbers in deeper brush but the toads are under these few shallow docks.
