HOT was the word. And then it got hotter.
Surprisingly, water temp was 85 to start the morning about mid lake. And some cloud cover appeared from someplace to make things bearable for a couple hours. Then the wind kicked up to about 15-18 mph for an hour and it was cool. Then the wind quit about 11 am and the temp went up in a hurry.
Fishing was tough for most everyone and big fish were hard to come by. Almost everyone struggled to catch fish over a pound. There were plenty of fish caught, but most were in the .6 to .8 lb range. Down sizing baits and slow presentations were the rule for most people. Fish were caught mostly on brush piles in 12-22 FOW. Bigger fish were just off the bottom.
There were 18 teams in DIV I and 17 in DIV II. Great turnout for a hot day.
Uncle Rick's Duck Cove Marina hosted the weigh in and had hot dogs and drinks on hand for some tired, hungry, thirsty fishermen. Congrats to everyone for toughing it out on a hot day.

DIV I

DIV II My pic didn't capture all the names; sorry bout that. Maybe someone else has a better pic and will post.

Wasn't too bad till the wind quit blowing but the fish bit like crazy all day long so it made the time go by quickly!!

That's awesome. Congratulation to the winners, and everyone that braved the heat.

We didnt have much weight, but my partner put an umbrella on the boat. Now, I have ordered one online. Im a believer in those umbrellas now. It made it feel like it was only 125 or something.

Lol! I missed having mine for sure! Aluminum umbrella holder I had welded up won't fit over the pedistal a in the new sled! When little man found out there wasn't gonna be an umbrella and it was going to be hot he told us to have fun without him! He said he wasn't gonna fish a dink lake in the hot summertime! Have fun we did though. We probsbly caught fish every stop we made. Had several we put 20-30 fish I would guess in the boat. Bonehead slim sticks in grapevine and white lightning and hand ties in similar colors were best for us.

Todd, check out the finesse minnow BoneHead has. We had the same results with it. Boated countless fish. Minus the heat yesterday was a blast!
