It started pretty slow this am on Grapvine. We finally found some small takers on the south end of the dam. When that ended I decided to make one more scouting round before calling it a day. Hey, it was going to get hot anyway. We saw a boat by the island with some schooling going on around 9. If that was you in the white XPress we enjoyed sharing the fish with you. The two boats stayed on those fish until about 10:45 when an idiot in a white Robalo with the name Sea Dog on the back came flying in and proceeded to troll through the fish. He had them all down within 15 minutes. Then he took off. Here's an idea. Buy a trolling motor or stop upwind and drift through. Oh, and casting into the fish works better than trolling through them. The bigger fish are below those tiny fish I saw you pulling in. It's called doing your homework.

Milt, the same thing happens on Hubbard.
Glad to see you are still out fishing. School is out so I guess you have the summer days to fish. Come over to Hubbard and we will show you around.

That would fun. Let me know a day. I go back to school August 6. I still remember that day you and I hammered them up in the trees north of the bridge. That's the only time I've been up in those trees. I haven't been over since the drought believe it or not. I've fished Grapevine some, Whitney a lot last year, and RC some this year. I haven't fished as much this year as I'm in the middle of chemo treatments for Lymphoma. I found out in April. It was quite a shock! The good news is the prognosis from the doctors is good. I'll be done in October. According to him I should have decades. Well, I'm 62 so I'll take that.

Sorry to hear that but I am glad you are recovering and the prognosis sounds positive. I have been fishing afternoons a lot lately. Work keeps getting in the way.

Anyone that has to troll to catch schooling sandbass should consider taking up golf.

Sure thing, Todd. The blessing with the cancer is I went in to find out what I did to my shoulder playing racquetball. X-rays led to other tests and they found it. I was not having most of the symptoms of Lymphoma. God is good!

Old Birdeye, I know what Your talking about. I Went for a CT scan on my back and they found heart problem and a spot on my kidney. Two Stents later, then kidney surgery with a robot, benign tumor and finally back surgery. The outlook for you sounds good, just keep doing what they tell you and you'll be fine and fishing for years to come. God is Good! OH and the White Robalo is a jerk he has done the same thing to me lots of times. I tried talking to him but he just told me to go F myself. Some people just don't care about courtesy.

Good to know. I will be hitting GV hard from next Wednesday every other day for about a week and a half. (the boss "wife" is out of town). I will avoid him at all cost.
