Who has the lowest rates to ship a rod (USPS, UPS,FedEx)?
I have got online and tried to figure out how much it would cost to ship a rod tube but I can not find on any of their websites where I can ship a long tube. All I can see is package deminsions?

I hate to say this as I do not like to use UPS for anything, but they are usually cheaper with that length of package. Shipping rods is not cheap.

I shipped a 92" tube from TX to Maine via FedEx Last month for $49. I shipped a 88" tube via USPS PRIORITY last week from TX to Colorado for $18. Both were PVC.

I went to ship two rods today in a 3" PVC tube. The tube was 99" long. FedEX wanted $150 to ship and UPS wanted $108 to ship. This was obviously much higher than what I expected. I knew a bigger tube would be more than shipping one rod, but not that much more. I quizzed the UPS employee and found out that 96" is the break point. If I cut the tube back to 96", shipping cost will drop to $35. Just thought I would share for future reference. I believe this is one of the only times being 3" shorter is better.

After a week of "experimenting", I have found the following:
1) keep it below 8 ft. Not worth shipping anything over. 2) Lowest to highest shippers = USPS, UPS, FedEx.
Hope this helps.
