Just wanted to get your thoughts on this. I have the original seats in my 98 Champ 203. The seats are in fair shape but the tops are starting to crack due to the sun and there's a small rip on a seam in the drivers seat. New seats run about 600.00 from Deans or LLebroc. Should I Recover or replace. Thanks in advance.

Usually cheaper to recover.

As long as the bases, backs & foam are in good shape, recovering them will be the cheapest route DEFINATELY. Now you just have to find a good upholstery shop. Find one that does classic car restoration upholstery. Ask for pictures of their work. They usually are happy to show custom & matching original work they've done. Good luck.

Call Deans Top and Canvas and give them your Hull ID number and they may be able to make new covers. Thats what I did, except mine were made by Llebroc. They were around $250
